The opposition alliance has scheduled to carry out a special rally at B. Atoll on Saturday night.
According to the opposition alliance, they will travel to B. Atoll for their ongoing campaign on Saturday. The opposition’s presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will also accompany them on the campaign trip.
His Spokesperson Mariya Ahmed Didi said the purpose of the trip, taking place from Saturday till Monday, is to provide an opportunity for the residents of the islands to meet with the presidential candidate, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
Thus, a special ceremony will take place at B. Dharavandhoo on Sunday, where he will meet with the people of the island. The opposition presidential candidate will also meet the people of the islands in various other ways and listen to their views and thoughts, she said.
Furthermore, a special meeting is also planned to be carried out during the trip. The rally will take place at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday night, Mariya said.
Senior members and parliament members of the opposition parties will also be joining presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih at the rally.
Although the opposition alliance’s running mate Faisal Naseem cannot attend the rally due to being abroad, he would be joining the coming trips planned by the opposition, the parties said.
While the opposition has planned to travel to B. Atoll, Th. Atoll and L. Atoll for the campaign, they had previously travelled to Addu City and Fuvahmulah and carried extensive campaign events at both cities. Both the presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and his running mate Faisal Naseem had visited houses in the islands and listened to the complaints of the people.
The opposition had also successfully carried door-to-door campaigns in Male’, Vilimale’ and Hulhumale’.
