The opposition alliance’s presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih said that the people will answer President Abdulla Yameen’s questions via vote in the elections.
President Yameen aimed many questions towards Solih during the ceremony held by Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) to officially hand over PPM’s presidential ticket to him.
President Yameen said there are many things which Solih has to be answerable to, including the corruptions which took place during former President Mohamed Nasheed’s reign and the February 1 ruling which, he said, was issued through influencing the justice system in the country.
He targeted another question, asking Solih whether there would be a repeat of the actions carried out by Nasheed’s government.
Speaking to the press after the campaign trip to B. Atoll, Solih said that the upcoming presidential election will answer all the questions that President Yameen had asked.
Solih said the people are very aware of the actions of the current government and are also aware of the actions of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)’s government.
Solih also requested the people to be prepared to receive the answer they are all seeking in the September 23 elections.
He said an opposition government will investigate the corruption cases carried out by the current administration and the perpetrators will be punished accordingly, which none will be exempt from.
