The opposition alliance has begun putting up campaign flyers in Male’ for the upcoming presidential elections.
The event was initiated by the opposition presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and his running mate Faisal Naseem on Friday evening. The event began at Jumhooree Party (JP)’s headquarters.
After a special ceremony held at JP’s headquarters, the duo put up campaign posters at different locations throughout the capital. They also put up flags at houses, after which the event was taken up and followed by the atolls.
Solih said pasting the campaign posters is a vital part of the campaign process. Other campaign events have also been organized and will be carried out soon, he said.
Solih called on all to participate in the opposition’s campaign work.
Speaking to the press after the campaign poster event, Faisal Naseem said that today’s event has proved how keen the people are to make the opposition victorious in the upcoming elections.
Faisal said they received huge support from people all over the capital.
Faisal appealed the people to do everything in their power to make it a successful election and stated that victory is very near. He also advised all to carefully carry out the re-registration process.
While the opposition had begun putting up posters for their campaign, police had previously removed the posters put up by the opposition in Male’. Therefore, the parties appealed the police not to remove their posters this time.
