Opposition alliance’s presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih says that a second opportunity will not be given for perpetrators to commit theft or corruption and action will be taken against them after investigating such cases.
Solih said this while speaking to the people of GA. Kondey on Sunday, during his ongoing campaign trip to GDh. Atoll and GA. Atoll.
Solih said the current government takes three times the financial amount needed for development projects. Noting that this is not development, Solih said in an opposition government the country will be developed without theft or corruption.
In an opposition government all the doors leading to corruption will be closed and the perpetrators would be held accountable and would not be given an opportunity to repeat the crime, he said.
He further said that local tourism would be expanded throughout the country, and noted that Kondey would be an excellent location for it. Land would be given for interested parties to establish local tourism in islands, he said.
Solih said although Kondey is one of the smallest islands in GA. Atoll - population wise, the island can be developed by empowering the council and providing financial aid.
Solih emphasized that the opposition manifesto includes free higher education for all interested students, and that this opportunity will also be open to the youth of Kondey.
