Maduvvari MP Mohamed Ameeth said after September 23, President Abdulla Yameen and his legacy will be history.
Speaking at the gathering held to meet the Maldivians living in Malaysia during opposition alliance’s running mate Faisal Naseem’s campaign trip to the country, Ameeth said President Yameen’s legacy is corruption and oppression.
However, he said, after September 23, President Yameen and his legacy will fade into the pages of history.
Ameeth said many Maldivians had to leave their country and migrate to countries like Malaysia because they could not find peace and serenity in their own homeland.
The flats built to solve the housing issue in the country is being distributed for the benefit of senior government members while education loans are given to the general public from what remains after giving it all to the children of government leaders, Ameeth said.
Furthermore, the needy have to beg for medical aid by going to state offices. The people living in the country and abroad are ready to change these circumstances and bring about a positive change, he said.
Ameeth also said that all the development is concentrated on the capital city in order to make it a ‘concrete jungle’.
