Jumhooree Party (JP) leader Qasim Ibrahim has met with former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.
The meeting took place at Gayoom’s office at H. Fulidhooge on Sunday morning.
The duo has met after almost one year due to various impediments. While Qasim was convicted of bribery, sentenced to jail and spent most of the last year in self-exile in Germany , Gayoom, too, was imprisoned in relation to the February 1 Supreme Court order.
However, Qasim and Gayoom have met under favorable conditions as the duo was released on bail by High Court on September 30.
Qasim and Gayoom, two of the four leaders in the coalition alliance, have assured president elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih of their full support to the coalition government and maintaining the unity of the alliance.
