A few water bungalows in Hudhuranfushi Resort in Male’ Atoll has burnt to the ground in the early hours of Monday morning.
Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said they received report of the incident around 2:00 a.m. There were no casualties in the fire, MNDF said.
However, MNDF said three of the water bungalows were burnt beyond use and one room had sustained various levels of damage. The firefighters of “FRS” were immediately dispatched to the resort upon receiving report of the incident and with the help of the fire squad at the resort, they were able to completely put out the fire by 4:30 a.m. MNDF said.
MNDF also said that police are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
