One out of three divers, who went diving with oxygen tanks in GDh. Atoll, had lost their life while diving.
Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said three divers who went diving near Outrigger Konotta Maldives Resort in GDh. Atoll were taken to Thinadhoo Hospital after their condition got serious while diving to catch bait fish.
VNews understands the 37-year-old victim lost his life while being treated at Thinadhoo Hospital.
MNDF said the two other victims were a 24-year-old and a 31-year-old. They are working to transfer the younger of the two to Male’ for further treatment as his condition is deteriorating. However, the 31-year-old is getting better, MNDF said.
According to MNDF, they received report of the incident around 5:14 a.m. early Friday morning. Thinadhoo Sea Ambulance arrived on the scene and took the three victims to the hospital, MNDF said.
VNews has learned that four men in total went diving for bait and dove to a depth of 44 meters for 35 minutes.
