Indian coast guard ship "Samrath" has arrived in Maldives on Saturday.
Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has stated that ICGS "Samrath" will be working together with MNDF coast guard in patrolling the Maldivian waters specially used in economical trade from January 13 to 17.
MNDF also added that the patrolling is part of a series of surveillance activities that will be carried out in specific areas of the Maldivian waters.
The series of sea patrol first began in 2009 with the aim of surveillance for any illegal activities being carried out in Maldivian waters.
ICGS "Samrath" is set to depart Maldives on January 17, soon after the surveillance patrol is concluded.
