President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has concluded the official state visit to Sri Lanka and returned back to the country on Tuesday night.
President Solih travelled to Sri Lanka on a State Visit on the invitation of the President of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena, where he took part in the 71st Independence Day celebrations of Sri Lanka as the Guest of Honor.
President Solih and First Lady were officially welcomed on the State Visit at a ceremony held on Tuesday, at the Presidential Secretariat of Sri Lanka. They were officially received during the ceremonial welcome by His Excellency, President Maithripala Sirisena and First Lady Jayanthi Pushpa Kumari of Sri Lanka.
During the visit, the two presidents led official talks between the governments of the two countries, carrying out discussions regarding the strengthening of the bilateral ties between the two countries.
President Solih also attended the State Luncheon hosted by the President of Sri Lanka in his honor.
The Maldivian President and First Lady also met with the Maldivian community residing in Sri Lanka during their visit to the country.
