Newly appointed Maldivian Ambassador to India, Aishath Mohamed Didi, has presented her credentials to the Indian President Ram Nath Kovind on Friday.
Aishath Mohamed Didi presented her credentials during a special ceremony held at the presidential palace Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Indian President Ram Nath Kovind greeted and welcomed the Maldivian Ambassador to India.
During the meeting, Aishath Mohamed Didi thanked the Indian government for its continuous assistance in the development of Maldives, and assured further strengthening of the existing ties between the two countries during her time in office.
She is the first female ambassador appointed to India, since establishing bilateral ties between the two countries on November 1, 1965.
Aishath Mohamed Didi has also served as the gender minister during former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom’s reign.
