Police confirmed that some motorbikes were torched early Thursday morning by assailants wearing helmets.
Police received report of the incident around 3:45 a.m. early Thursday morning. Nine motorbikes, which were parked near Ihusaan Fihaara in Maafannu district, had been torched, seven of which were burned beyond use.
Speaking to VNews, police media official said two people wearing helmets were the culprits behind the attack on the motorbikes; however no suspects have yet been arrested in relation to the case. Since it is an ongoing investigation, police did not disclose further details on the case.
Meanwhile masked assailants had attacked a Mifco van and robbed MVR 2 million a night back and in another assault, assailants wearing helmets had robbed MVR 2.3 million from a man near State Bank of India on March 10.
