Two resorts developed by a famous Spanish brand Riu, has been inaugurated on Friday.
The resorts were developed on the islands Dh. Maafushi and Dh. Kedhigan'du. The resorts within the same vicinity of Dh. Kudahuvadhoo, are joined by an artificial walkway.
The walkway was built by the same company which built the Male'-Hulhumale' bridge and highway, China Communication and Construction Company (CCCC).
The resort built in Dh Kedhigan'du is named "Riu Atoll", with modernly designed water bungalows and 264 rooms is a 4 star resort. "Riu Palace" built in Dh. Maafushi, consists of 174 rooms and is a 5 star hotel.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Tourism Minister Ali Waheed, Environment Minister Dr. Hussain Rasheed, Planning Minister Mohamed Aslam, Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives Zhang Lizhong as well as member of parliament for the Kudahuvadhoo Constituency Ahmed Amir.
