Maldives Ports Limited has crossed 100k passengers rendering their bus services between Male' and Hulhumale' via the Sinamale' bridge.
According to data by the National Bureau of Statistics, by September 2018, the services were rendered by 57,630 passengers. By October 2018, the numbers rose to 95,480. The number went on to increase to 122,897 by November and 182,258 by December 2018.
According to statistics, the number of passengers travelling to Hulhule' from Male' via bus also increased from an initial 5,422 to 11,252.
Bus services between Male', Hulhule' and Hulhumale' are being provided by Maldives Ports Limited (MPL).
Bus services commenced in September 2018, soon after the bridge was open for public on August 2018.
While ther service started out as a complimentary one, inorder to maintain the services in a sustainable manner, MPL began to charge MVR 10 per person per trip.
