Member of Parliament for the Maamigili constituency Qasim Ibrahim has been appointed as the leader of Jumhooree Party (JP)'s Parliamentary Group, with MP for the Dhan'gethi constituency Colonel Mohamed Nazim as his deputy.
The two were officially appointed to their respective positions during a gathering by the JP group, with the consensus of the PG group.
While the 19th Parliament began on May 28, five members of Parliament are representing JP. These members are, Maamigili MP Qasim Ibrahim, Dhan'gethi MP Colonel Mohamed Nazim, Thimarafushi MP Abdulla Riyaz, Kendhoo MP Ali Hussain and Isdhoo MP Ali Hameed.
JP is part of the coalition that is now ruling with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih leading it. Despite the minimal number of members representing JP in the parliament, they have vowed their full support to the coalition in the Parliament proceedings.
