CT scanning service has been halted at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) due to the damage caused by a fire incident at the hospital on Friday, and will now be temporarily available at Tree Top Hospital, the hospital informs.
In a press statement, IGMH stated that all patients seeking the CT scanning service will be fully accommodated by Tree Top Hospital under an agreement with the hospital and Aasandha Company.
The fire broke out in a battery in the engine room of the hospital early Friday morning.
According to IGMH, the yellow zone and green zone of the emergency along with the operation theater complex was affected by heavy smoke. 22 patients being treated at the yellow zone had to be transferred to the area which housed the former physiotherapy department while the services provided in the green zone was temporarily transferred to the OPD area, IGMH said.
The hospital also reported that there were no casualties in the fire and assured that all services provided by the hospital will continue.
