An expatriate worker has died after a cement bag fell on top of him at a construction site at Hulhumale’.
The incident occurred at a building being constructed by Jaah Investment Private Limited on Wednesday evening. The expatriate worker, who was working at the construction site when the incident occurred, was a 24-year-old male from Bangladesh.
Police said doctors pronounced him dead on arrival and the case is currently being investigated.
A seven-year-old from Bangladesh was also recently killed by a falling cement bag in the capital. Authorities penalized relevant parties for negligence, levied criminal charges against them and hearings are now being carried out in the case.
