A proposal bidding has opened for the second time, to bring changes to the concept of a central power station that would unify both GDh. Madaveli and Hoadehdhoo under one power grid.
The bidding, which was initially opened in April by Fenaka Corporation, requires the interested party to design and build a power station, as well as provide the necessary installation equipment and supplies for the station. The opportunity window is open to any local or foreign parties.
According to the notice published on the Gazette, the party must fulfill all the conditions specified by Fenaka Corporation using their own resources, in fortifying and maintaining the medium-voltage (11kv) power grid.
The projects bid document can be obtained from Fenaka Corporations Head Office at any working day starting from July 11 until July 21. They are for USD 100 and cannot be refunded. Applicants are required to include the company name, e-mail address, phone number and contact details in their registration document. Only those who purchase the bid document are able to register.
A briefing on the bidding is scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on July 22.
Situated at the same lagoon, Hoadehdhoo and Madaveli used to be connected via a causeway; but the Hoadehdhoo residents separated it, claiming that it was causing floods in the island.
