Ghiyasuddin International School is looking into the case involving a viral video that portrayed the bullying of a student, following revelations that it was not an awareness video presentation made by the school students.
The public was in an uproar following the leak of the video that showed several students bully another student. A school teacher responded to the leak via a Facebook post, claiming that it was an “Anti-Bullying Video Project” performed by the school students. The teacher added that it was disheartening to see the video being leaked in that manner, and that publicizing such material requires discussions with the relevant authorities.
However, the school published a circular dismissing the claims, noting of the severity of the video. It has also announced its efforts on looking into the circumstances leading to the video, and had already questioned the students who were involved.
Details of the “Anti-Bullying Video Project”, along with its purpose and guidelines, were provided in the schools website. According to the school, the project aimed to raise student awareness over the detrimental effects of bullying.
All project presentations are overseen by their respective teachers, and will be ranked and awarded based on their final scores.
