President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has been presented with the official kit to be worn by athletes representing Maldives in the upcoming Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG).
The kit was presented to the president by the General Secretary of the Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC) Ahmed Marzooq, during a special ceremony held at the President's Office on Saturday.
Athletes taking part in IOIG were present at the ceremony, as well as senior officials of the sports ministry and heads of different sports associations.
The 10th Indian Ocean Island Games will take place in Mauritius from July 18 to 28. Maldives had won eight medals during the 9th IOIG in 2015, and have set a target of 15 medals for this year's games.
The countries taking part in the games are Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles, Reunion, Mayotte, Madagascar and Comoros. Maldives is a founding member of IOIG, and have been taking part in the games since the inaugural event in 1979.
