An induction programme commenced at Hotel Jen on Thursday to aid members of the Parliament in fulfilling their duties.
The 1-day programme was headed by a delegation of experts from the Westminster Foundation for Democracy - a UK-based non-departmental public body set up to promote democratic institutions overseas. The delegation consists of the Westminster Foundations Country Representative, the Senior Parliamentary Advisor and the Foundations Regional Director.
All members of the Parliament, including Parliament Speaker and former President Mohamed Nasheed took part in the programme, which was divided into 2 sessions.
According to the Parliament Secretariat, the programme aimed to train the Parliamentarians on carrying out their tasks in their fullest efficiency, adding that the event would be a boon for their endeavors.
