A Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) seaplane, en route to Velana International Airport from a resort in Sh. Atoll, has made an emergency landing at Kaafu Huraa due to worsening weather.
The TMA seaplane had to make the emergency landing after getting caught up in turbulence.
The plane landed at Kaafu Huraa around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
According to MNDF, the passengers were brought to the airport around 10:15 p.m. last night.
Meanwhile another TMA seaplane moored at Kuramathi Resort sustained damages during an incident yesterday, when a strong gust of wind made the plane collide with a boat.
Maldives Meteorological Service (Met Office) had informed that gusts will reach 55 miles per hour during showers and also issued yellow alert on Sunday.
During another incident, two people who were swept out to sea on a canoe and reported missing had swum safely back to Hulhumale'.
