Maldives Police Service (MPS) has helped some picnic goers who were in distress due to bad weather.
Police said they received report of the incident around 5:12 p.m. on Sunday.
According to the report, 20 people were stranded onboard a speedboat near Kohdhipparu Resort. Police said their Marine Police had gone to the location and assisted them back to Male'.

Police said there were 10 children, 7 women and 3 men on board the speedboat. Among the children, 4 were below age three. Furthermore, police had also assisted a group of picnic goers at Bodu Finolhu near Alif Dhaal Dhangethi today. According to police, they were stranded there due to bad weather.
The group included a six month old, 7 women and 4 men. Police report they were all safely taken back to Dhangethi by the police with the help of a boat from the island.
Meanwhile Met Office had issued yellow alert to some areas. As such, police and MNDF had advised travelers to be cautious when travelling.
