Maldivian National Football Team Captain Ali Ashfaq has arrived at Male', to train with his fellow teammates in preparation for the AFC Challenge Cup.
Ashfaq (also known as “Dhagandey”) was given a permitted release from his Malaysian team - PDRM, before heading back to his training session.
Maldivian National Team Coach had greeted the football legend with warm greetings.
Football Association of Maldives (FAM) stated that while he will be joining in for the training session, all players in the National Team competing for the tournament, are already scheduled for the sessions.
It was also earlier considered, that fitting Dhagandey into the team, under the guidance of Croatian Coach - Drego Mamich, proved to be a huge benefit.
The Challenge Cup will take place in Male' and Addu City from May 19th to the 30th.
The starting match will be a face-off between Maldives and Myanmar.
Dhagandey, who ranks 2nd in the Malaysian Premier Leagues goal-scorers list, is considered by PDRM as a valuable team player.
