Former Maldivian football player Shah Ismail’s health is improving, his family revealed on Monday.
Shah, who is a deputy fisheries and agriculture minister, was rushed to Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in the early hours of Monday morning after he suffered a minor heart attack.
A family member who spoke to VNews said Shah is currently receiving treatment in IGMH’s Critical Care Centre and that his condition has improved.
“His condition has improved. He can speak now, but he has to stay in hospital for the moment,” the family member said, adding that he may be discharged on Saturday.
Shah has previously served as deputy youth ministry, General Secretary of Football Association of Maldives (FAM) and captain of the national football team. He has also been the match commissioner of some international football matches.
