Former Maldivian football player Shah Ismail has been taken out of the Critical Care Center at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
Ismail was rushed to the hospital on Monday after a heart attack.
His brother Maadhih Ismail told VNews that his condition has vastly improved, and that he has been transferred to a hospital room.
“Hopefully Shah will improve. He is being kept in hospital for treatment, and will be released after Saturday,” he said.
Shah, who was a famous Maldivian football player, has previously served as deputy youth minister and General Secretary of Football Association of Maldives (FAM).
He was also the captain of the national football team and was the match commissioner of some international football matches.
He is now a deputy minister at the Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture.
