Housing Ministry has warned that vessels that enter the Male’-Hulhule’ bridge construction site will be penalized.
The area has been closed off for vessels since bridge construction began last year.
The ministry said that vessels are still trespassing the area, even though it is highlighted by buoys, which hinders the work on the bridge.
Such actions could put people's lives at risk, the ministry added.
50 percent of the China-Maldives Friendship Bridge will be done within the year, said the ministry, adding that they are working to complete the whole bridge by July 2018.
