Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said the fishing boat “Concord” that went missing with 25 Maldivians on board, has been found.
MNDF said the boat was some 33 nautical miles off Addu City and was travelling towards Addu City when it was found.
MNDF said they received report of a missing fishing boat named “Concord”, around 9:20 a.m. on Monday.
The boat reportedly set out from S. Maradhoo around 6:00 p.m. last Friday.
MNDF cited the owner of the boat saying that the last contact made with the boat was via satellite phone around 6:10 p.m. on Sunday, after which there was no news of the boat.
MNDF also said that during the last contact with the boat, it came to light that the boat had faced engine problems, but had solved it and resume travelling.
The boat is 108-foot long and is in painted blue and white.
