Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom’s wife Nasreena Ibrahim on Tuesday said that victory is very near and that the nation will soon be saved.
The former First Lady has spoken to the media near the Criminal Court, while her husband was produced at the court for a remand hearing.
Nasreena said while people plan, it is ultimately God that destines the outcome.
Saying that victory will soon be achieved, Nareena stated that success belongs to those that tread the path of truth. All those in captivity will soon be released by the Will of God, she said.
“We will soon be victorious. What is important is to understand whether we are being true, and walking on a path of truth. If one is steadfast on truth, they will be happy”, she said.
This is the first time Nasreena had spoken to the media as of late. While Gayoom had been in police custody for more than 40 days, his family had repeatedly expressed concern for his arrest.
Meanwhile Gayoom has also stated that his arrest was unlawful.
