Thursday’s hearing of the charges pressed against Supreme Court’s Chief Justice Abdulla Saeed and Justice Ali Hameed for unduly using their influence has been closed off to the public.
Although it was a closed hearing, Criminal Court did not disclose the reason for it.
The last hearing on the case was also a closed hearing.
Police stormed the Supreme Court and arrested Justice Saeed and Justice Ali Hameed on the night of February 5 under state of emergency.
Along with the two judges, former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom was also charged with terrorism.
The Chief Justice was also charged with obstruction of state duties.
The justices have been charged with obstructing the administrative functions of the state for allegedly ordering the employees of the Supreme Court to suspend Government E-letter Management System (GEMS) – a network that has been established to exchange government documents.
