Supreme Court Justice Ali Hameed has been released from hospital after treatment on Thursday morning.
Speaking to VNews, an official of Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) said Justice Ali Hameed was treated at the hospital on Wednesday night and released early Thursday morning.
Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) took Justice Ali Hameed back to prison upon his release from the hospital.
Justice Ali Hameed was rushed to hospital on Wednesday night after he had difficulty breathing while at court, during the hearing for the obstruction of official duty charge against him.
Justice Ali Hameed suffered from high blood pressure and heart problems even before his arrest.
Another hearing on the case has been scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Hearings on the case were scheduled four times on Wednesday, but were cancelled. However it is not clear why the sentencing was postponed for Thursday.
If Chief Justice Abdulla Saeed and Justice Ali Hameed are convicted of the charge, they will face a prison sentence of nine months and 18 days.
