Jumhooree Party (JP) leader Qasim Ibrahim said secret testimonies are given to oppress people.
Qasim said this in a tweet on Monday, expressing his thoughts on giving secret testimonies.
Qasim said even the Islamic faith does not allow secret testimonies while it is also not present in the Constitution. Hence, no law can be made against these two things, which is clearly stated in the Constitution. Therefore, he said, giving secret testimonies is invalid and is only being done to oppress people.
Qasim tweeted this at a time when secret testimonies have become very common in recent trials, prompting many lawyers and political figures to express concern over the issue.
