Elections Commission has on Sunday publicized the eligible voters’ list for the upcoming presidential election.
In an announcement on Sunday, EC said the eligible voters’ list can now be viewed from the government gazette website and on EC’s website.
It can also be checked by sending a message to 1414 with VR (space) ID card number, EC said.
EC said any complaints regarding the list can be submitted from June 11 to 20, from 10:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on working days.
The commission said complaints can be submitted to the council offices in the atolls, and to the district offices in Fuvahmulah and Addu City. In Male’ complaints can be submitted to the Post Complex building which houses the Elections Commission, they said.
The voters list contains 263,000 names, all of whom over 18 years by September 23. EC said the voters’ list would contain very few mistakes, but if there are any to promptly inform them of it.
Meanwhile, some people complained that they were unable to check whether their names were on the list via the phone.
